Two Fellas on the campaign trail…
In 2016, nine weeks before the end of the campaign season, Brett Marty (a seasoned campaign photographer, short film maker, and a former roommate of mine) and I set off to follow Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and their surrogates across the States in a thirty-year-old RV.
We drove 14,000 miles in nine weeks, saw fifteen or twenty campaign events, talked to plenty of voters, wrote words, drank High Life, and all-in-all had a raucous adventure.
Thrown into the fray, not knowing what to expect, and purposely ignoring media and politics for the preceding six months, I found myself in an entirely different universe of giant political rallies, secret service checkpoints, and off-the-grid KOAs from Iowa to Pennsylvania to Florida.
